Outlook 2000, iTunes update

So you still have Office 2000? And you love iTunes?

Have you recently updated your iTunes program on Windows XP?

Both excellent tools and software, but if you update your software after September 15th, 2010 you need to read this post…

If you update to iTunes 10, and you are running Microsoft XP, then you may have issues with your Office 2000 (especially Outlook 2000).  What will happen is your Office program will open then close unexpectedly.

How to resolve?  Very, very easy!

Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS).

Of course, if you have an iPod, iPhone, or iPad, you will probably need to have AMDS from time to time – so you will need to decide:

• Do I need a new version of Office?  Or can I just use another mail client instead of Outlook?
• Am I going to install/uninstall AMDS every time need it?
